COVID19 - Sunday 15th March

Dear CPC Family,

We want to inform you of the following precautionary measures we are taking for Centerpoint Church in relation to COVID-19/Coronavirus. We are mindful of the current health climate regarding COVID-19, as well as the seasonal flu virus and the common cold. We want to assure you as people who call CPC home, that your health and safety across our services, events, groups and youth activities are a priority for us. We also wanted to encourage you as to the best way to respond.

Although very large gatherings like the F1 have been cancelled, at this point in time gatherings of under 500 persons are still permitted; so we are looking forward to engaging faith and being with you tomorrow from 10.30am for our Sunday Service and our Fasting and Prayer Celebration from 5pm.

“At the present time there is no evidence of transmission in the community in Victoria so you should continue to go about your business. You don’t need to take actions like limiting your movement in the community or staying at home.”

What Centerpoint is doing in response:

  • We stand with decisions of our leaders, government and health professionals for the wellbeing of the community, be aware and adhere to their advice.

  • Avoid being consumed by all fear-based conversations through clear communication and support to our CPC family. We will not be adding to the misinformation or uncertainty of the times but building up in encouragement and guidance within the church.

  • Pray.. pray for those infected to miraculously recover, for the spread to cease, for our medical professionals on the front line, for wisdom in our Nation’s leaders as they continue to respond, and that Jesus would touch hearts at this time.

  • Increase practical hygiene. Please see the way in which we will be facilitating this at CPC :

    • Hosts will be instructed not to shake hands with people as they arrive or enter the service.

    • Extra hand sanitiser to be available for use throughout the building. We strongly advise for you to bring your own pocket sized sanitiser for ease of access.

    • GROW kids Check-In – The team will check-in kids at the check-in station. Parents are able to self-sign in their children on their own personal devices via this link: https://kids-cpc.fluro.io/app/

    • WHO guidelines on Hand Hygiene in Health Care posters will be provided at all sinks. Children to please be accompanied by a parent/guardian to toilets.

    • Laying on of hands at prayer times, is to be at the request of the person being prayed for only.

    • If you are showing flu-like symptoms, see your GP, stay home and take time to recover. If needed the Coronavirus Health Information Line is - 1800 020 080

    • designated location of your giving will be provided at a designated location, i.e - giving buckets will not be in use.

  • We advise any church members that have recently travelled back to Australia from overseas within the last 14 days please exercise caution and seek advise from the government websites to your situation, before engaging in public meetings and church services.

Our desire is not to heighten or alarm people around COVID-19/Coronavirus, but rather to ensure that you are informed on the preventative actions that we are taking, while making sure we adhere to the advice of Health and Safety authorities.

Always remember that prayer is powerful and that it is available right across our church. We want you to know that you are cared for deeply and you are not on your own but part of a church family bonded by the grace and goodness of God.

We love you church, and our prayer is that you would personally know and live out of Gods abundant peace and together we would unify in faith for a God outcome across our local communities, Australia and around the world.

With love,

Ps John Di Cecco
